Hey Scotty,
I have a 2021 Kia K5 GTLine, went in for my first oil change at 5,000 miles as recommended, and now I’m on the side of the road THAT DAY because something wasn’t tightened I guess and there’s oil leaking and the oil/engine light came on so I’m getting a tow. What should I say to Kia?
"When do I pick up my check and where do I leave this?"
Obviously you probably have engine problems due to running on what I'm guessing is no oil.
I would love to be this forward, but I do like the car. I just don’t want to be saddled with the issues due to this down the line.
In order to cover myself, I really would like to know what should I tell or ask of the manager tomorrow morning.
Engine I’m sure is damaged, it’s just a matter of HOW damaged. I’d love an entire new vehicle due to the jerk and seizing that I felt while driving, which told me to pull over, but I’m unsure how to present that
I've been in your shoes with Ford. If you like the car, tell them about all the problems and ask them to switch out yours for another. Likely they will not.
Then tell them you want a new engine at the very least because you don't trust the car as it is. They should do that no problem.
After back and forth with the service manager, I was referred I guess to the lady who oversees all of the operations at the dealership and she apparently is open to getting me into a new K5 GTLine, anything I should be looking for with this and how much of a process would that be? Do I have to go through financing and paperwork etc. again?
Most likely yes you will because the VIN of the vehicle you are financing is changing and has a different title.
Thanks for all of your responses and anyone else who did. I was able to get it in writing that they’re going to give me a new replacement vehicle whenever they can find one with my specs due to the shortage. Seems to have worked out up to this point. Just as an update for everyone who took the time to help me.
Thanks for the update. Please let us know once they follow through and make it happen for you. Wish you the best.
that's great news.
Tell them that they should stand by their work and fix what they screwed up free of charge.

Well, tell them to get their act together and learn how to change the oil properly without having to leave you on the side of the road.
Document ALL your interactions with this dealer and rep. The bastards ruined your vehicle!! Problem is that they have non-mechanics doing things like oil changes. I have ALWAYS done my own oil since cars were new. Never trusted dealers.
