Tesla is threatening to sue the creator of this video

https://twitter.com/RealDanODowd/status/1556973572698128385

There are standard tests to asses "Assisted Driving",
Tesla scored 2/4 points. (with most "Assistance competence" metrics being "marginal" or "poor", as a matter of fact it scored 36% in that metric - the worst score of any car tested. The 2nd worst car was the Nissan Juke with 52% with the difference being that it's a free feature even on the base model, the whole car costs about the same as the $15k "autopilot" add-on for a $50k-$100k Tesla)
-
IMO Telsa are a scam, when it comes to repair, eco-friendliness, marketing, and pretty much almost everything else abiut it.

Hyundai, Kia tell SUV owners with tow hitches to park outside due to fire risk | Autoblog

you've got to be kidding.
everything they touch goes up in flame!
Just throw in the towel already.

Anybody making automobiles that can't figure out how to properly wire a darn trailer hitch should be in jail, or run for political office.  And it should be a wet towel! @mmj

They should park right at Hyundai/Kia dealerships and factories. I think the problem would be resolved quickly then.

@g-t {blackemo}:laughtertotears:
indeed

better yet ... in front of board members' homes

I'd be surprised if I don't see a new Kia/Hyundai recall at least once a week. And it definitely takes a lot of effort to make such rolling piles of junk.

You should give a brief description for your links.
"... investigation into reports of "catastrophic engine failures" in V6-powered variants of the 2021 Ford Bronco. The issue could affect over 25,000 units of the SUV."

Thank you Joe, @mmj

love your channel. The link is something I read on yahoo in Jacksonville Florida. Can you explain this? Preferably like you always do for people who are inept with cars. What crap

Unfortunately, Kia does not bother to install immobilizers in their cars like other manufacturers do.

Have you seen

Yes we did. Please search before posting.

Funny is that when I searched Hyundai or Hyundai supplier, nothing was found.

@lacyrice2 Of course searching a broad term like "Hyundai" would bring up thousands of posts.
A specific phrase like "child labor Hyundai" brings up exactly what you posted:
https://carkiller.com/scottykilmer/postid/229212/

I think you missed the part where I said "Nothing was found" with my search. If I had the ability to attach the screenshot, then maybe you'd understand. Besides, I was really sending it to Scotty since I had not seen any vids about it yet.

@lacyrice2
I didn't miss anything. You didn't type "child labor" into the search even though you mentioned it three times in your post. Of course "Hyundai or Hyundai supplier" won't find it.

Have you seen the story about child labor in Bama?

"Acosta v. SMART Alabama, LLC et al" https://www.law360.com/employment-authority/cases/6241f123e90a2476a77863ea/articles

I thought child labor ended in 1930s

Speak for your local country/region.

It’s still prevalent in other countries around the world, unfortunately..

Yeah unfortunate

Hey Scotty.

In addition to all of yours, here's another good reason to avoid Hyundai products.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11039513/Hyundai-subsidiary-used-child-labor-Alabama-factory.html

Additional information: the company in question is "SMART Alabama LCC", a company who Hyundai has a majority in - they produce stamp metal body / structural panels for the Elantra, Sonata, and Santa Fe. Terrifying.

Maybe they'll sell them at a $6K discount, like Chevy Bolts.

New research, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, led by the University of Wisconsin–Madison confirms Singer's cartoon is dead on. The researchers found RFS increased corn prices by 30%, expanded corn cultivation by 8.7%, increased fertilizer use by 3 to 8%, degraded the water supply with chemical runoff, and "caused enough domestic land use change emissions such that the carbon intensity of corn ethanol produced under the RFS is no less than gasoline and likely at least 24% higher."1

“It basically reaffirms what many suspected, that corn ethanol is not a climate-friendly fuel and we need to accelerate the shift toward better renewable fuels, as well as make improvements in efficiency and electrification,” said scientist Tyler Lark, the lead author, in a press release.

https://www.treehugger.com/ethanol-worse-for-climate-than-gasoline-study-5219116

This is basically meaningless because CO2 is not pollution and is nothing to be concerned about and "climate change" is a natural phenomenon that we cannot control.

Banning ICE engines is total nonsense by some politicians who want to have a favorable image for people who say "we care about the environment" but don't understand anything about cars. And those people who follow the "caring about environment" trend can't even understand that mining the material needed for making those batteries for electric vehicles causes even pollution and harm and then comes the needed to dump those batteries when their life is over. I also find this whole EV nonsense an excuse for justifying why gas prices are constantly hiking. I live in WA State where is full of such nonsense ways of thinking and people who buy it. We pay $4.72 (well as of yesterday) for a gallon of gas and some say "well don't drive and walk, or buy EV). Also, all this pressure of charging many EV cars on the electric system.

I think it's just a trend for making some people happy and it's not really going to get anywhere at the end.

Here we go again.  Another Hyundai Motor Group recall, this time recalling 215,000 Hyundai Sonatas for fuel line fire hazard:

6-May-2022: Land Rover owner disgruntled by denied warranty claims abandons it at the dealership with a little message.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6RXY6ZTWV0

Not the 1st time. Land Rover owners don't seem very happy about their vehicles.

2019 - almost 200 hours over two and a half years on the phone trying to sort problems

2018 - Dumped outside dealership by furious owner

"Mr Hamilton had bought for his expectant wife reportedly began to show problems within days of purchase ... he was put on hold for five-and-a-half hours when he rang up to complain ... after seven weeks of Land Rover keeping his car in to repair the broken gearbox and suspension, they have failed to give a deadline for when the work will be finished."

A Reliable Big Mercedes?

Mercedes has launched a new mini-van / Light commercial.

To me it seems like an attractive alternative to other small vans.

At this moment it's still unclear if it's going to be sold in North America.

This Merceds is based on a Renault-Nissan platform, has a Renault-Nissan engine, but unlike those - it's going to offer a dual-clutch automatic transmission (a very weird choice for a van, might significantly impact it's overall reliability).

https://youtu.be/hg656VTUq_U

AS I SEE IT, It probably will have the same fate as the Mercedes X-class, another Renault based passenger-commercial vehicle, they were good trucks - it's just that no one was interested in buying one.

Honda is against non-OEM printable accessories and parts?

And what does it mean for their long term for aftermarket parts availability?

Bias disclaimer: Personally I wouldn't buy a modern Honda for many different reasons

Spoiler
Reasons:
(including but not limited to: failing 9 speed transmissions shared with FIAT models, random body/paint issues, to major electronic faults as we saw both in a Scotty video and some posts on this forum, HR-V CVTs exploding and extended warranty coverage being quite strange IMO, some cars that can not warm up due to bad design, or those that can't maintain their operating temperature, but mainly how they treat their costumers - injectors allegedly not being covered under powertrain warranty, and that they warranty leaking compressors but not those that had an internal failure [all of this is from forum posts / TSBs])

The following article suggests that Honda has demanded to remove all printable parts that include the word "Honda".

As I see it, It's just an attack against owners' right to fix and fully enjoy their property.

https://www.thedrive.com/news/honda-orders-big-takedown-of-honda-related-3d-printing-models-from-maker-communities

IMO, this definitely set a very problematic precedent.

I get that in 2020 they made 1 million less cars then in their 2018 pack, and in 2021 the number declined further, additional -6% (does NOT look like Covid effects to me, total sales for all manufacturers increased by 4.5% in 2021 compared to 2020). I get that Hondas' European 2021 market share is down to under 0.7%, having negative growth of -34% and -10% in 2020 and 2021 respectively. And I fully get that their net income is down over 30% 2018 compared to 2021 with over 1.2 times more debt than equity -

I fully understand the drive to maximize profits a company in such a position would have but it still is quite questionable in my opinion that they chose to go after 3D models.

I hope this trend won't extend to aftermarket parts for Honda vehicles.

just remove the word "Honda" . What's the big deal?

@mmj It's not about the word "Honda", their intention probably is to remove all printable parts for their vehicles. First it's "Honda", later I assume it will be their other trademarks like "Civic", "Accord", (...) - I guess we'll see how this will develop.

then don't use any trademarks or copyrighted material. In these cases they're simply protecting their name and intellectual property. They have zero legal basis to control what you do with a 3D printer. I see no reason to panic here.

I wonder if the unidentified flying tesla was on "auto pilot"!

https://www.newswars.com/wild-video-tesla-driver-launches-over-la-street-smashes-into-parked-cars/

Well, it's a stunt - so probably not.
-
Autopilot is adaptive cruise with steering is a good feature available on most cars including even basic Corollas.
-
FSD or "Full self driving" is probably what you mean, and it's not ready yet.
Here's a video of how their FSD (not autopilot) fails:

Still pretty epic way to destroy one, gotta watch out for those U.F.T.s🤣🤣

In addtion to that some stations have put purchase limits on how much fuel you can buy.

With $125 being the cap, alot of trucks are going to have an issue filling up....that locale seems to be about $4.85/gallon.
