I currently have a 2004 tundra but my wife bought a new camper. When the new 2022 tundras finally come out will they be able to haul my 9500 lb max camper?
I really want the newer tundra, but also will need to haul the camper.
I would wait on the newer Tundras. They will be powerful enough to tow 10,000+ lbs but it's new truck, engine (twin turbo V6) and transmission. You can get a 2021 Tundra- it will tow just as much as 10,000 lbs.
Thank you for the input. I also would like to get more than 14 mpg as I do right now.
The wife did say she didn't care if I only got 14 mpg, but when she told me the 2021 Tundras were gone. They are getting hard to find . Thanks again. Kpost
I know you’re lookin at the Tundra, the 1/2 ton market is just weak overall. To much unknown and new crap coming out way to fast. This might be overkill for your situation but have you thought about a 3/4 gasser?
Does Toyota make one that big? I would take an older model diesel pusher if I could get one cheap enough.
If I could do that I could park it in my barn and only get it out for towing. Then I could keep my current tundra until another time. My tundra is in outstanding shape. Kpost
@kpost1 no they don’t, Toyota has no intentions to expand their truck line. The diesel would tow better and get better mileage than a gas option. You might get lucky and find one for a decent price. Only older ones to get are a Cummins 5.9 or 6.7, Ford 7.3 Powerstroke or a GM LBZ 6.6 Duramax.
Ok just saw a GMC 2011 vortec 3/4 ton. It is an HD and just had the transmission rebuilt 100 miles ago. Guy wants 18,200 for it and it has 120 k miles on it.
Right now I am just looking for something to pull the camper and stay in the barn.. I need to use this to pull the camper across the country next year.
I do not want to pay that much for it. Any feedback would be appreciated. Kpost
