Nissan Altima bad?

Topic starter

I have a 2016 nissan altima base model with 65000 miles. A friend recently strongly suggested to me that I  should try to sell the altima because nissans have really bad transmissions and even engines. He recommended I use the money I sell the altima for to buy a honda accord... Is this good advice? I did some googling and found a few reports for cvts but every car has some small issues right? I'm now wondering if I should seriously consider replacing the altima or if it will still be good.

thank you

Clarification: How many miles do you need the Altima to last you? (for example, Are you aiming for 150/200,000 miles or more, or you don’t plan to drive it much and only need it to 100,000 miles?)

I'm hoping for around 150,000 before I have to start considering a replacement

I think your friend gave you good advice.

Scotty is not a fan of them. Just search his videos.

Your friend is a good one. My dad's Nissan Altima also have problems where one of the sensors failed. I assume it's an oxygen sensor. The engine starts to make a very loud noise. My dad doesn't seem to care about the problem and assumes it's normal.

Also, the mechanic didn't make something tight enough(don't know the cause) which may also cause loud engine noise.

These vehicles do not have "small issues" as you stated.  They have large, very expensive issues.

@doc I assume you're talking to me.  That's the reason why I said his friend is a good one.

No, I was responding to sunny_days25, who is about to become cloudy_days26.

Since you say you need it to last you 150,000 miles, the transmission is bound to hold you back and will be costly out of warranty.  See below, I would get rid of it.  I would look at a Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, or Mazda 6 (Mazda 6 will be cheapest).
