I've got a 2007 Nissan Tiida (versa) with 1.4L and a CVT transmission with 182K kilometers on the clock. After few minutes of driving, it won't "shift to upper gear" and after forcing a bit on the accelerator (4000rpm @ 40Kpmh), it would then shift up.
However, when doing highway, or just starting the car, it would shift smoothly. It was doing so before changing transmission oil, and just did an oil change on 181K KM.
Is it a small issue, or the gearbox lifetime is coming to its end?

The CVT transmission on those cars are junk. Considering the repair costs, I would say just baby the car.
