Hello!
I have a 2001 Nissan Xterra
iv watched your video on how to fix a car that does not start.
mine is acting the same way. Completely dead when I turn the key. Only the headlights work when I turn them on.
here is a list of what I have tried already
inspected every fuse and replaced some that seemed a bit fishy.
i have bought a new battery
bought a multimeter and measured signals all around and not finding any spot that seems dead or low
i then replaced the starter relays
i then replaced the ignition switch
and still at this point I am lost.
nothing I have done seems to fix it.
iv done everything I could in trying to find a loose ground
man I missing anything else that could be the problem.
my next step is a new starter but if it was the starter wouldn’t I still get dash lights and radio power.?
Try jump starting it (correctly!). Will it start then?
But since you’ve got a new battery, and none of the dash lights turn on, odds are it’s something electrical/wiring related.
Have you already tried hot wiring the starter, like in the video?
Does your positive battery clamp have a couple of cables bolted to it? If so, take them off, clean up the lugs, and bolt them back on. Disconnect the negative cable first though.
doesn't start, or doesn't crank?
