Hello,
My Daughter has a 2009 Chevy Aveo, it only has 110,000 miles on it. Recently it has began spitting and sputtering upon starting. Then the other day the battery died and so I charged it and tried starting the vehicle, the car would start, spit and sputter, rev up then die. I would do this a couple more times with no success and the battery would eventually be drained again. I have had the battery tested and it is fine. Could it be the alternator? Fuel Pump? ECM? Please help.
Actually 110,000 miles is fairly high for one of those, they are not very long-lived vehicles.
Have the obvious things been checked like air and fuel filters, spark plugs, fuel pressure? Any codes?
How old is the battery? Have battery and charge system been load tested?
Battery is approximately 1 to 1.5 years old. No Codes. Haven't checked all other items you mentioned.
Batteries can go bad prematurely, particularly if there's a charging system problem, so still worth testing.
