Noise when left turn; Noise (from bottom) over bumps

Hello Scotty,

I have a Lexus ES300 (2002) with 200k miles.  When I turn left when the car is parked (getting out of parking spot, e.g.), or when it's running at very slow speed, I hear grinding noise (like rubber, not metal).  Also, when the car runs over bumps/potholes, noise comes from bottom (like "ga la la....").

The car is otherwise extremely smooth and quiet, especially on highway at high speed.  At regular or high speed, I don't hear anything when turning (or at least not obvious).

What can be the cause, and are they one thing or two different parts?

Thank you very much!

Frank

To me it sounds like a tire problem and/or an alignment problem.

The sound can be heard outside of the car (by a family member e.g.) when you drive slowly?

Thank you for your quick reply !

I will give it a try today to see if it can be heard outside the car.
(my guess is it is)
On highway, I don't feel the alignment is off (at least not noticeably off)

Frank

I don't think the grinding is tire turning on the ground, that's a different kind of sound; it's more like some rubber covering (CV boot maybe) cracked and different parts rubbing; but on the other hand, I heard that the noise from cracked CV boot is a clicking sound. Mine is more like random grinding sound. And it seems to come from underside. Also, the noise from bumps sounds like something is loose and it makes "ga, la lan,ga la la .... " kind of sound when the car shakes but quickly disappears.
