What is a normal tcc slippage rate? I get a range of 300-600 slipping by accelerating with an engine rpm of 2500-2800. Its the same amount going uphill as straightaway.
Slipping goes to 0-5 once desired speed is reached while cruising and doesnt go much above that. Itll go 80-100 rpm slipping on light accelerating at 1500-1800 engine rpm.
2007 equinox 3.4l 298k miles. Put in used tranny with 40k miles not long ago but shudders for a second when accelerating while already cruising speed. Scanner states all up shifts and down shifts are good. No dtc. Engine runs flawlessly.
Thank you!

Sounds OK to me.

Why? it's a cheap old Chevy mid-size crossover SUV, it should've been junked.

Welp, sounds like you have the 5 speed Aisin then - crappy transmissions.
Check that it's not overheating, reset the TCM, consider performing a partial fluid replacement -
but chances are is that it's either contamination of the valve body or/and (usually it's and) a torque converter wearing out.
Either way, preparing it properly is most likely going to be pretty expensive, not the kind of money you should put into a 16 year old Chevy with 300k miles - try the simple things, and if they don't help, I'd just consider living with it.
EDIT:
TC was not replaced
Wait so they sold you a transmission without a torque converter?
And put a 260k miles 5 speed Aisin torque converter into your car?
The reason these transmissions die (if they have been reflashed to disable auto neutral) is the TCC breaking up and contaminating everything inside of it. So not replacing the TCC is an extremely unprofessional mistake on their part.
Ive done all the work myself entirely of ownership, so it still drives and runs very smoothly. I dont have a hoist otherwise id done the transmission myself.
Transmission temp stays mostly 160-180 but will top 195 above 95 temps and mountains.
The extended warranty includes labor and covers the TC. Do you have any personal experience dealing with lkq warranty?
I bought a used transmission with 40k miles from lkq. It came with the torque converter.
We dont drive like maniacs and i never had an issue with mine until 290k miles. I could have driven it longer but since a 40k mile tranny was available i took it.
It definitely shifts better than the original tranny but it has shudders. I had the shop use Amsoil atf and i drain/refill twice since.
When the car hit 150k miles i did preventive maintenance by replacing head gaskets and entire cooling system. I installed a 180 thermostat and run the fans when it hits above 181. I've also heat wrapped the exhaust pipes that lies right below cooling lines (stupid design) So I've never really had issues with the car. So hence i thought it was worth replacing the transmission than buying another used car.. It costed me 1200 for the transmission and labor.
Well, did you replace a torque converter to or just the transmission. I would have replace the tar converter at the same time because that can lead the slippage too. If I were you I'd just live with it. That things only got a little bit of life left in it anyway
TC was not replaced. I bought the transmission from lkq with 2 yr extended warranty with labor.
