NYS Emissions Question

Hey so this might be a dumb question but since the dmv here is about as useful as a 5 year old preforming open heart surgery I thought I’d ask it anyways. So being a 5th gen Celica owner my car is over 25 years old, according to the dmv if your car is 1995 and older it’s subject to the low enhanced inspection but on dmv’s website it also essentially states that car’s 1995 and older do not need any emissions related equipment. I just wanted to make sure a as my car burns oil and the catalytic converter is probably all gunked up, I was planning on removing everything that inside the cat and just bolting it back onto the car. Thanks in advance guys.

Before you do anything always CHECK with the DMV that you are not required to have any emissions related equiment as you so stated.  Make sure you verify what they say clearly else there will be problems which we want to avoid.

Yeah, It’s just thats they don’t work on the weekends and don’t pick up on the weekdays 😅 but thanks, I’ll probably try to go to the dmv on Monday.
