I am looking to change my transmission fluid on my 07 Avalon with 170k miles. I was wondering if I should use an OEM filter and gasket or are aftermarket ones ok? If so, which brands should I look for?

is the difference in price even worth the time of considering?
I have always used aftermarket as long as it not leaking is what is important. I use aftermarket fluid too. Vavoline maxlife full synthetic. Shifts good and smooth. I'm not telling you to do that but that is what I have always done unless I am able to find the factory stuff online. I just dont like dealing with dealerships. Wix is decent but make there transmission filters in china. AC Delco is good and make there transmission filters in the USA. I have used Manns as well on my mercedes.
I would get the OEM filter, considering the price and also the role they have. Also, you do not need to change them very soon. For the fluid, use WS fluid.
