Hey Scotty, I recently came across Liqui Moly and their Molygen new generation. I was wondering if you think this would be worth using in my car, its a 2004 Ford Taurus, I know I could just use normal oil but since its green oil it'll come under UV light and it'll help find leaks, is it worth it?
Person I stick to regular companies like Castrol, mobile etc. Does aftermarket ones. There's no saying what kind of chemicals they have in additives. Not liquid mind's been around a while. They used to have molybdenum bisulfate in it, which is a pretty good additive but they generally never tell you what's in them anymore so I stick to the major brands
Liquid Moly was one of the first companies to add molybdenum bisulfate to their oil, hence the name. Although it has become more and more common these days.
I don’t know the product you are referencing.
If you’re not losing oil or seeing any leaks, I don’t think it is worth it. If you are losing oil or have leaks, it may be more cost effective to just add the UV dye yourself.
Generally speaking, stick to the oil specs in the owners manual.
As for brands, I prefer the more recognizable brands, like Scotty. Castrol, Quaker State, Penzoil, valvoline, Mobil1… and even Costco Kirkland.
