Does the Brand of Oil filter really matter on 2005 Camry 2.5 Lt. Engine ?

Not really. I'd just go with a Wix or OEM and be done with it.

Not really, I would go with a quality aftermarket filter, but really it is more about making sure that the oil changes are done on time and less about the brand name.

There are differences within a single brand. Often, there's a "platinum" or "gold" and/or "silver." The cheaper ones are very poorly made, usually Chinesium. Some are so poorly made that they'll start shedding paper, potentially clogging up the engine.

There's plenty of videos online that cut up and examine filters. If you're so inclined, buy a Toyota OEM filter and something like a bottom-of-the-line Fram or Framish filter, and cut them up yourself.

Here's an example of 10 different filter brands, cut up and analyzed: (This is for a Tacoma, but the methodology and results would be nearly identical for a Camry).  https://parts.olathetoyota.com/tacoma-oil-filter-comparison

The OEM toyota filters are NOT expensive, and are of excellent quality. It's not worth being "penny wise and dollar foolish" and buying a lower-end filter. Modifying Scotty's aphorism: "Oil filters are cheap. Engines are expensive."

No, but for oil filters you want to get a premium one as they are better made and filter better.  See video below.  Bosch, Wix, Napa all make good oil filters.

There will be small differences between the brands, but I think what matters more is doing regular maintenance.

Thats a good question back when I had a f250 I was told to use ford parts and the ford filter was motor craft. I just bought a  used low mileage Chevy Traverse and was wondering about running Royal Purple motor oil in it or is there something better
