I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 v6 3.9L pickup truck. When i come to a complete stop, the oil gauge goes completely down to zero and my check gauges light comes on. My oil is not low though, I checked the oil and it is where it should be. What is wrong, and what should I do to fix it?

- I had an 02 grand Cherokee 4.7 liter v8 had the same problem sometimes at idle oil pressure gauge would fall to 0 as soon as I gave the engine a rev or started driving it would shoot back up to normal. Just an oil pressure sensor. Replace it and problem is gone

I remember a friend who had a ram with a similar issue. We decided to, for the heck of it, try to clean out the sludge with Royal Purple oil and after a few miles at normal operating temperature, the gauge showed really good oil pressure even at idle.
