Oil Light

I have a 2010 Mercury Mariner Premier V6 4x4 with 213k miles. The oil light pops on while idling but immediately turns off if I rev the engine in neutral or resume driving. I figured the pressure was low from low oil but I changed the oil with the same oil light results. It takes 6qts of 5w20 and I use Castrol GTX High Mileage synthetic blend. What's likely causing the light?

Old age engines get old they are pumped the snark as well plus things like engine bearings are worn and if engine bearings are worn it oil that is pumped through them goes through a larger space which actually lowers the oil pressure especially at idle speed. But if the engine doesn't clack and make odd noises it's not hurting anything yet
