I have a Hyundai I30, 1.6 diesel, 116 HP, 2008, 170 000 KM.
After starting the car, I notice that the oil light stays on for 1-2 seconds.
There seem to be no peculiar sounds from the engine.
What can I check?

Hook up a mechanical gauge to verify what's happening with your oil pressure.
thanks for the hint. Any idea on how to find the oil pressure sensor? Or where it should be located
I'm not familiar with that engine (it's not even sold in the U.S.), but on most I've seen it's on or near the oil filter housing.

Sounds normal to me. Do what Chuck said and get a mechanical oil pressure reading. If still not happy, get a new oil pressure sending unit.
