Car works different after changing turbo

I have a Hyundai I30, 1.6 diesel, 116 HP, 2008, 170 000 KM.

Bought it last summer, about 6 months ago.

About 5 months ago, the turbo died, and most of the oil in the engine went on the exhaust.

At that time, I bought a new turbo, changed it, and after that it worked fine, but the power seems to have been reduced compared to before.

Also, since then, I noticed that just after starting the engine, for about 10-20 seconds, it makes some white smoke. After those 10-20 seconds, it goes away and it works just fine. I made about 6000 km since then.

Recently, since the weather started getting colder, I noticed it starts significantly harder, specially if it's 10 degrees celsius or less. The battery is new, changed 2 months ago.

If I put the contact on and off, for 5-10 times, it starts a little easier, but with the same white smoke.

Any tips on what could I do to fix that somke?

Also, any tips on what to check, to bring back the lost power?

Even on my 25-year-old beater if you replace the turbocharger you have to set the base boost and perform a boost adaptation run for it to work properly. You may need to do something similar on your vehicle which may well require a fancy bidirectional scan tool.
