Hello Scotty , we both really enjoy your show thankyou. I have a great 1991 Madza 2600 manual 4WD  pickup truck with  nearly 200,000 miles and expect many more years on the road. Running thru about a quart of straight 10w30 oil about every 500 miles. Have been willing to  add oil as necessary but I am afraid of missing to  checking the  level of the oil just that one time! GETTING OLD SUCKS. No blue smoke or leaks that I can see. Changed the PVC  valve, no oil in the radiator, spark plugs are fine [only light brown crusty residue on number three]. I'm  thinking of new valve guides  and seals. What do you think of oil additives ? Worth a try? And what do you think a fair price would be if I bring the head in to a machine shop if I can find one that  can do the work. Thanks again

On the bright side you will never have to do an oil change haha! Just kidding.

Oil additives are all mostly snake oils. For resurfacing the head, #300-$500 for me seems reasonable. I'm in California though so idk if the price will vary. You can always call the shop as well to see if you can get a quote.
