Old 90s weekend cruiser?

Assuming I can find one in good shape, What do you think about buying an old 95-99 Crown Vic as a weekend cruiser?

Do you have more information? Like are you looking at listings with a specific amount of miles (for example grandma driven low miles or police driven high miles)? Also, at what price point? You might get different answers for one costing $3500 rather one costing $1500

I was looking at low mile grandma driven ones for no more the 4 grand

is an ordinary 20yo sedan worth blowing money on, and maintaining?

The equation completely changes if you replace *sedan* with *woman*..

Get it inspected by a mechanic. Those are great vehicles but also are 25+ years old. But as a weekend cruiser they can be nice vehicles.

Now that you have added the sticker of 4 grand, I can agree with the others and say that's a lot of money for an old Ford
I thought you were saying you were buying for sub-$1500 stuff.

if its cheap enough and a mechanic says its good, grandma driven then sure but expect to put some money into it. For the price, you could get a much newer crown vic/grand marquis

I had a similar question myself a while back. I was looking for something 90's that would make a fun cruiser.

However, I wound up going with a 1998 Z28. If you're going to buy something old, and you know you'll have to work on it, and it's only going to be driven on weekends.....why not get a fun toy car to play with? Something you can pull out on a sunny day and that puts a smile on your face?

Crown Vics are good cars, but I normally recommend them for daily duty as they were built tough. I don't think I'd recommend one as a weekend toy though. There are a lot of other options that would be much higher on the fun factor and really make it worth paying for.
