I have a 2017 Honda CR-V 1.5L with about 35,000 miles on it. It started doing something weird recently. When you start the vehicle the dash will start cycling through all the warning lights (ABS, Tire inflation low, Traction control, etc) and it will constantly cycle through them until you turn the car off. Other than the warning lights, the car runs fine with no noticeable change in performance or fuel economy.

I read on the internet that it could be due to a bad battery or loose connection, and it explained how to reset the dash after you fix the battery problem. My battery and connections checked out good, but I still tried to reset the dash just in case but it didn’t solve the problem with the warning lights. I also read that this problem could be caused by bad fuel injectors so I used a inexpensive code reader and it did give me an error code on my number 1 injector (that was the only error code that showed). With only 35,000 miles on the vehicle, I decided to try fuel injector cleaner and within a couple of starts the problem went away. A couple of months and a couple of thousand miles later the problem is back.

Could my problem be something else? Or can I just keep using fuel injector cleaner every couple of months to keep the problem from coming back?

Please help,

Jim

Well you can keep using cleaner. But you might try my video. Make your car run better with a little spray cleaner and physically clean the system

Thank you for your quick response! I watched your video “Make your car run better with a little spray cleaner” and I was going to try it but the directions on the can of CRC Throttle Body & Air-Intake Cleaner said not to use it on turbo charged engines. Since this is a 1.5L turbo engine would you still recommend cleaning the throttle body with this CRC product or use something else?

Thank you.

Jim

Once Scotty answers, he usually does not respond anymore. If it is not for turbocharged engines, then better don't use it. Look at our FAQ about misfire and see if it helps.
