What is the remaining code for your evap system?

@chucktobias same one lol

@usgxviper P0420 (the only code you mentioned) doesn't relate to the evap system. Perhaps I misunderstood what you meant by "the cat went off" and "the evap is on" subsequent to replacing the O2 sensor, not sure what's going on with that.

@chucktobias okay so I have an ht300 obd reader when I check the codes before I replaced the 02 sensor it have that cat red and the evap red and all the small words for certain parts of the car are all green and when I put a new 02 sensor the red cat symbol went off and now the evap one is still on

@usgxviper I don't understand what you mean by something is "red" or "green", or what the "small words for certain parts of the car" are. (What kind of scan tool works like that?) What are the actual codes you are seeing?

@usgxviper That's a cheap Wal-Mart scanner. "Red" and "green" on its screen refer to the I/M status monitors, not to codes. If red it means that status monitor has not completed. That can be due to an associated code or it could be that the drive cycle has not completed.

For diagnostic purposes you need actual codes as well as live and freeze-frame data.
