Hi everyone, so recently the check engine light came on when I was driving so I use the obd read and it read p0420 code, I just deleted that and see if it will turn back on later. About now is a month later it came back on today. Would there anything I can do to check the problem first and fix it? Thank! My car is 2008 Camry v6 240,000 miles.
You need to find out what is causing the CAT inefficiency code first.

It is the Catalytic Converter code.
It could be the cat itself, or it could be upstream from the cat, which is triggering the code. (It could be downstream from the cat as well, but highly unlikely.)
The two times I had the code in separate cars, I ended up replacing the catalytic converter. And it solved the problem
Alas, make sure to verify it is the cat or something upstream before replacing parts.
