P0430 in Toyota 4Runner

Hi Scotty, I have a 2006 Toyota 4Runner V8.  The check engine light is on with codes P0430 and C1201.  Obviously looks like a problem with the catalytic converter.  Should I try using Cataclean or another cleaning method to fix it, or am I screwed out of luck?  Thanks.

You can't just assume there is something wrong with the cats.  Something is causing the codes to be shown from the cats.  I would be more interested in checking out the fuel injection system and its related components.  What is the mileage?  Have you ever had the injectors cleaned or replaced?  Have you checked the electrical connections and wiring?

It has 171,000 miles. I bought it with 168,000. I’d assume the injectors haven’t been touched before I owned it. I haven’t checked the electrical either. It may have an exhaust leak. When the engine is cold and I accelerate, there is a ticking sound coming from under the vehicle.
