Ok Scotty got a good one for you I ran my vehicle into a mood puddle ok the driver side got floode it is a 2003 Chevy trailblazer with 151000 the fuse box in the back seat got socked so did the bcm but I replaced the fuse box but reinstalled the bcm it sounds like I have miss fire now but the battery volt meter on the instrument cluster idle not working it was a no crank no start I’ve got it to run now but it seems to have issues that lead back to miss fire I will say I dried the bcm but it still was dirty and had 1 spot of corusion but I have another bcm but when it is installed security issues pop up and it is back to no crank no start so my question is how do I get the trailblazer back to 100 percent operation
I’ve tuned up this vehicle prior to the this
I just want to say if you get an answer to your question on here please take it with a grain of salt no one knows your vehicle better than you I was told by a moderator that my vehicle would never run again but my car runs almost perfect but you know your vehicle better than anyone so do what you think is best get multiple options don’t just use this site I’m not saying they don’t know what they are doing but it’s best getting multiple options
@duwayne215
Relax mate, there’s no need to get offended.
What Jacksonishere has advised you is the absolute truth as you can ask the founder of this forum (Scotty), and I’m sure you’ll get the same answer.
What you have mentioned about nobody knowing the vehicle better than yourself is absolutely true too, but learn to be receptive of others’ opinions.
Whether you agree or not with them, is a different story. But please don’t go off topic and stick to asking your questions.
how do I get the trailblazer back to 100 percent operation? The answer is you don't. If the car got enough water it to short out the computers you'll likely never get it back to even 50% operation. Your car is totalled. There is nothing you can do to try and save it and anything you try is going to be a waste of money because no one wants a flooded car and that takes your cars value to a few hundred dollars at best. The best thing you can do is take it to a junkyard or try and sell it as a flooded car and your required by law put ON THE TITLE Salvage and state that its been flooded. You're up the creek my friend. I wish there was more I could do for ya but when you get the electronic wet it could honestly take a lifetime and TRUCKLOAD of money and the car would still have a Salvage title and worth almost nothing. There's guys that rebuild em but 03 Trailblazer which in great condition is worth all of 5,000$ Time to junk and start again.
@jacksonishere
Sir it took me 500$ for tow and reapair honestly 100 fixed my car and when I got my car pulled out of the ditch the state troopers said nothing to me about registration on the trail blazer and I was good to go so honestly sir yes the computer got wet but was 100 percent ok so please don’t just say it’s totaled it’s all depending on the amount of water damage and how quickly you get stuff fixed and I did all the work myself
You will need a dealer level scan tool & a mechanic who specialises in GM vehicles to reprogram the new BCM to your main computer. The reason you’re running into a security roadblock is because it’s a design feature to prevent theft of the vehicle by swapping parts.
Find a good mechanic or ask the dealer for an estimate.
