I can't find a hose for the PCV Valve...discontinued at mfg and aftermarket. The hose connects the valve with the heat exchanger. It's hard as a rock and will break when I go to remove the PCV valve. The hose is unique in that it's larger in diameter at one end than the other and it's bent at about a right angle. I've thought of trying to print a new one, but the old one will be broken up so I can't use that as a schematic, plus I don't know if the printer material would withstand the engine heat. 2002 Chrysler 300M, 150,000 miles. Owners manual states the PCV valve should be replaced at 144,000 miles. My engine check light comes on and off once in awhile and I suspect that the PCV valve is setting it off. The car is in excellent condition.
Is that PCV hose some kind of crazy molded shape? Even if so it should be possible to cobble something together with some generic PCV hose and suitable fittings.
Yes, it's molded, turning nearly a 90 degree angle. It's pretty short. Where would I go to find a selection of generic hoses? A parts house is not gonna allow me to rummage around inspecting their hoses.
Parts stores frequently sell PCV hose prepackaged or will cut it off of spools and sell it by the foot. You just need to buy some PCV hose of the right diameter and get creative.
have you tried rock auto or e bay?
you should be able to have the hose made at a NAPA store
Good idea...maybe NAPA could make something. Yes, I've tried rock auto and ebay...along with a lot of other after market sources. Thnx.
The hose you are looking for is everywhere - Mopar Parts Giant, Parts Geek, O'Reilly and AutoZone - Droman #46014 - $9.99. It doesn't connect to the heat exchanger. It connects from the valve cover to the intake manifold. If the hose you're talikg about is attached to the heat exchanger, it's not the PCV system
Thanks, Doc. At Mopar Giant it says it's for a '96 -'99 Chevy, mine is a 2002 Chrysler 300M. But I ordered it from AutoZone 'cause it was a lower price. The picture shown sure looks like the hose will work, so at that low price it's worth a try. I appreciate your help.
Hope it works out for you. Please let us know.
