Hi guys

I have a big decision to make

It is literally going to be my first car to own

Kind of late age to earn my first car but i am

But then i am not in wealthy family

and just want a VERY reliable car that i can drive for long time, at least 5 yrs

Obviously I have done LOTS of research myself as well about these 2 car model.

And I know myself that Honda accord did have lots of issue the more newer it is.

Actually my partner had a 2007 Honda accord v6 and she is still running smooth with 280Km on it

so I know that Honda accord v6 engine is a very reliable and powerful engine.

But in term of model i also did like the Honda civic 9th style. I do also know that the Honda civic with the 1.5l

turbo engine had a lots of issues with the engine oil dillusion problem.

So at this stage (in australia)

I have 2 option. Honda accord 2013 with v6 3.5l engine with 110k Kms on it at $20 000 Australian Dollars

and second one is the Honda civic 2018 vti-s 1.8l engine with 31k kms on it at $26 500 Australian Dollar

If you were me, which one will you pick if i am looking for a comfortable but reliable as well for at least 5~7 more years to drive on without many mechanic issues. Will need to be driving daily for work.

I do like to have some power as i am a 34 yo man who like to drive fast time to time.

Please give me some advice. Obviously the honda civic 2018 is newer and low kms on it but more expensive.

so will that be a better choice tho

i cant make my mind up please help 🙂

Thanks

I would get the Civic. That Accord has lots of issues.

The main issue with that generation Accord is it has cylinder de-activation which can cause oil consumption but there are way to remedy that by turning it off.  It also has had some starter issues.  Other than that its solid.

The Accord is going to be a more refined and quiet ride than the more tin can feeling civic
