Hey guys/Scotty, I’m really liking the Pontiac trans am firebird from around 1993 to 1999 series. Is this a good choice for a first car? (My first car will be daily driven for about 10 miles a day max.) What are some common problems/things I should be looking out for when shopping or even owning a firebird?

Since you asked, I wouldn't recommend it as a first car/daily driver, assuming that your aren't a fairly experienced mechanic. It would make a fun weekend toy, but cars of that age, the only folks that are happy with them as daily drivers are folks with good mechanical skills who have meticulously gone over the cars and maintained them.

For example, Scotty has a 94 Celica (and I have a 93 MR2). We play with them, we fiddle with things to keep them running well - but we have other cars as back up  ( and to fetch parts). Get something like a $5k Japanese car to drive daily, and then get a weekend fixer-upper (you should be able to get a needs-work Firebird of that vintage for peanuts) to learn on and fix up the way you want it.
