Porsche cayman gear issue

Hi scotty,

i have a Porsche cayman 2007 (198000km) automatic transmission.  The car doesn’t shift very well it wasn’t that bad at first but it’s getting worse.
i took it to a Garage he claims the the fluid level is less then normal (1 litter less) so should i let him put new fluid? And is it possible because I haven’t seen any leaks.

also is it worth it to change the transmission on this old car ?

If the fluid level is low, add more to get to the normal level. Hopefully this solves the issue. About your next question: I don’t think it is worth putting a new transmission.

@yaser
Thanks for the advice. But my question again will it slip if i fill it up because its new oil. I guess you know what im trying to say

No. If you low on oil, add more oil does not lead to slipping.

@yaser
Thankyou soo much. Any idea whats the right kinda fluid for this model ?

@yaser
Also trans job i can get it done under 3000$ And the car is valued at 12k$ do is it still something I shouldn’t do or what ?( I don’t live in US, im located in dubai so I guess stuff here is cheap)

Check the car manual for the type of fluid you should use.
If adding oil does not help and the job can be done under 3k, go ahead.
