Possible maifold leak, or bad catalytic converter?

Hello, SCOTTY!!!!! I have a 2003 F-150 super crew with the 4.6 triton and 370k miles on it (brand new engine and tranny less than 40k ago). I am the original and only owner and i RELIGIOUSLY changed the oil every 3k miles, always took care of maintenance on time and it has never given me a hiccup of trouble, however in the past month or so i hear this ticking noise when i give it gas. It gets faster with higher rpms, and slows down with slower rpms, AND doesnt make any noise at all in park or at idle. Im almost positive its the manifold but just want to make sure its not a bad cat since i have to pass emissions in 2 weeks.

-A little side note. It developed a cylinder 4 misfire about 2 months ago which was just a bad coil and i fixed it right away, and more recently an on-and-off cylinder 1 misfire- also a bad coil- which i fixed within a week or so, but i want to make sure the misfire did not f up the catalytic converter.

Thanks scotty

or anyone that can confirm or deny this for me

Wow I used to smoke machine for that when the engine's cold I inject smoking the exhaust and if there are holes you see the smoke coming out it's an easy test

Wow! Scotty himself just gave me a reason to convince my parents to let me take the smoke machine out early this year for halloween! Thanks scotty! I will give that a try when i get home!

The ticking sound could be a bad lifter or possibly a loose or cracked exhaust manifold.
