I have a 2013 Buick Verano 53,000 miles automatic. Went to have second key made at ace hardware but told if check engine light is on they could not program a new key. Scan tool shows P0013, engine light goes on and off while driving. Currently vehicle runs fine with no issues.
It is best not to program a new key with an active check engine light? If so would deleting the code be enough or should further diagnosis be advised. Appreciate any assistance.

Go somewhere else you don't go to Ace hardware to get programming done try a locksmith find a good locksmith who does keys
