Pulsating vibration at highway speeds - Golf R 2017

I have a 2017 Golf R MK7.5 DSG auto, with 46k miles, stock with no aftermarket parts, and no OBD codes.

I get a pulsating vibration (comes and goes every second or so) at 48-51mph and 69-76mph that sounds like a "woom woom woom" noise, and it seems to be at around the 60hz frequency. This happens no matter what gear I'm in, cruising, accelerating and braking, and even happens in neutral.

This vibration has been happening for the best part of a year, and I have had several mechanics look over the car and they can't seem to find anything.

Apparently all wheel bearings seem fine (although I'm not sure how thorough they looked) and only one of the mechanics have actually heard the noise, to which he stated that he'd never heard a car make that noise before.

Could this be a shot axle? Driveshaft? Wheel bearing? Something else?

I've changed tyres and alloys to no avail, and had the wheels balanced 3 times (not road force balanced though).

Any help is much much appreciated as it is driving me insane.

Thanks in advance.

Can you please make a YouTube video of the noise & post the link here?

You answered your own question - "axle, drive shaft, wheel bearing?"  If it was a noise only, I'd suspect a problem with one of the pulleys on the engine but you stated a pulsating vibration that has to be somewhere in the drive train.

Is there anything I can do at home to narrow this down?

As I said, I've had several mechanics look at it without any idea, and anyone I turn to shoots down any possible ideas I have.
