Hello, Scotty!
I have a 2013 Ford Escape with the Sony Ford Sync radio system. It has recently been going out on me but now works but there is no volume and the AM/FM radio cannot be accessed on the touchscreen. Also, I think is related, is that the backup warning sound does not work either but I think that may be related to the sound not working. The "beeps" on the touchscreen work but I am not sure where that sound is coming from. I tried a CD and it plays but again with no sound. I did 2 master resets of the radio and also did your overall reset of the car by disconnecting the ground and connecting the battery cables like in your video. I also removed/replaced fuse 79 to try and reset with no luck.
Also, unrelated, I have a turbo code that is set on the computer because I forgot to hook up one of the lines when I replaced the EVAP valve on the top of the engine. I did your reset as above and it still shows the check engine light. Do I need to reset the code with a scan tool or is there another way.
Thanks, Danny
You'd need a scan tool to reset that and it might have to be a relatively high level scan tool like that. As for the stupid radio those things are junk for just as one of the worst synch systems out there do they make a big deal about it like it's really something to me it's garbage. Plus no one knows how to work on the stupid things they just replace them
