Range Rover not supporting computer diagnostics on old vehicles.

Rumor has it that Tata, the owner of Jaguar Land Rover, will not support computer diagnostics for Range Rovers more than 8 years old. Heard this from dealers and independent repair shops.

Should I dump my 2012 Range Rover Autobiography.  No problems and 80,000 miles.

Thanks

 Perhaps the reason?

Range Rover translates to => 揽胜

Where is the source of this information....can you provide a link to this ?

Not on this particular subject, but this doesn’t surprise me. A few months ago Scotty made a video saying certain manufacturers would no longer share their diagnostic information with third party mechanics. Massachusetts just passed a law saying auto manufacturers must share diagnostic information with third parties if they want to do business in that state.

If manufacturers keep making it harder and harder they will force us to go back to pure mechanics. Where there is a will there is a way and damn the rest.

That is if Government doesn't outlaw combustion engines completely.

That is old news and has been settled quite some time ago.  jan 25, 2014

I vote to dump.   It sounds like Tata isn't doing to good.

Microsoft is doing that for years with Windows.
