Inherited A Range Rover Evoque

Hi Scotty,

I have recently inherited a 2013 Range Rover Evoque with 70k miles. It runs fine and I've put in quite a bit of money to get it restored to tip top shape since it was NOT taken care of properly before (a lot of drama there...). Now, I'm wondering how I should proceed with this. Should I sell it and make back at least the $3k I put into it? Should I just keep it? It runs well now and I'm in the midwest where it snows and stuff. I just don't want more car related headaches!

I really like the Evoque.

That said, Land Rovers are not cars that take mileage well and they get pretty expensive to maintain in high mileage.

If it is a weekend/bad weather vehicle, no harm in keeping it if you like it and are prepared to spend a decent amount on repairs. If it is to be a daily driver, sell it and recoup your money.

Those are my thoughts on it. Being around these cars so much, my opinion may differ a little from time to time from the general consensus here. But on Range Rovers....no.

If you're looking to daily drive it or do not have the money/desire to pay for spendy repairs that are surely in the future, then do as @Doc recommended...Sell, sell, sell that thing.

I really like it too, it's fun to drive and takes weather on like a champ. Spending on repairs is definitely not a part of the plan though. Thanks for your reply, selling is definitely the way to go...

I would sell it fs. Get something else that won't burn your wallet 🙂

Tis the harsh truth. Thanks!

I know car prices differ by state/zip code but in general right now is the best time to sell a used car if you want to sell it and if the car is in a relatively good condition I think you should be able to get more than the $3k you spent on it.
