Hi everyone,
I have a 2016 Subaru Impreza with about 94,000 miles on it with an automatic transmission. I recently got my entire transmission replaced in the car, in addition to something called control arm bushings (which I've never heard of before) and a gasket to fix an exhaust leak. However, ever since the repair, there's been a rattling sound (like a buzzing rattling?) coming from what seems to be the center middle of the front of the car when I press on the gas pedal. I'm not sure exactly where the sound comes from, but it seems to be either under the gear shift, or perhaps maybe somewhere behind where the stereo is (sorry, it's kind of hard to pin-point), but the sound doesn't rattle when I let off the gas, it only sounds when I'm accelerating. The speed doesn't seem to matter much either, as it rattles for both inner city driving, as well as highway. The breaks also feel a little funny now, but I'm not sure if that's related (I could be wrong though).
My question is, is this rattling sound normal after having all this work done (like a "the parts are being broken in" type of thing), and/or are these jobs all connected somehow (i.e., you have to take one thing apart to even get to the other thing)? Or is this something else? I don't know much about cars, but I would like to know if this is something to be concerned about and/or get re-checked out. Any information is appreciated.
Thanks for your help!
An exhaust heat shield may have been disturbed during repairs.
