If my catalytic converters honeycomb is melted, is it a good idea to remove it from software? The mechanic told me that this soft removal only affects diesel engines, mine is gasoline. Should i do it or spend around 1000$ to buy a new one?

Well it's against the law in the United States to gut cats but of course people do it all the time and they actually run better.
HI SCOTTY!!!!! Won't it mess with the air/fuel ratio? I'm lucky i bought the car from a guy that works at the Periodically Technical Inspecion (it's what is called here in Romania) and maybe he will help me pass it with a gutted cat. I'm afraid it will run worse
Also, can i gut it myself and leave it be, or do i need someone to program it {black}:blushed:
