- I have a 2015 Nissan Altima with 102,000 miles. I took it to the dealer for an oil change and they said that my rear control arms are broken. They told me the job would cost $1,000. I don’t feel the car act any different than before. How can I tell if the control arms are broken? Also, what are those and how critical is it to get it fixed?

The rear control arm is a solid piece of metal.
The bushes could have been worn..
On my jeep Cherokee 2000 I trash that car up and down the 4wd tracks and that control arm never broke .. everything else broke on that jeep lol
Ask them to show you the broken control arm. I bet they will have said it been thrown out.
Have a look under the car and see if a new control arm is on .. or the old is broken under the car if they have done the job
Hope this helps

You can hear a klonk! But if you hear nothing or feel nothing, it's nothing major for now. I got worn out bushings for a while on the back and I'm still alive.
