Hi Scotty, I don't get why you keep saying that we should only use the oil that is named on the oil fill cap. I have a 2007 2.4 liter Accord. Honda recommends 5W-20 only for this car in the US. I live in the Caribbean but my car is also made in Ohio, my owners manual tells me to use anything between 5W-30 and 15W-40, and no 5W-20. This is because we don't have anything like CAFE standards in my country.
it's a complex subject that you could spend your life analyzing. The reality is it depends on many variables ... your driving preferences, priorities for a vehicle, specific engine type and age, etc etc.... Whatever you choose, you will be compromising something for something else. If I were you, I wouldn't overthink it. Use what's on the cap and be done with it. In the grand scheme of life I don't think it'll make a tremendous difference.
