Hello Scotty,

I have a Mazda 2 - 2013 - made in japan - manual transmission

It has 255,000KMS on the clock and I use Castrol Edge 5w-30 A3/B4 full synthetic oil

i have been using this for 5 years (since owing) this vehicle and have had no problems - I had the car oil changed last week and now my mechanic is telling me to change to a different oil and viscosity

the car does not burn oil or consume it

what should i do ?

Thank you

Simon

Use oil that meets the manufacturer's specifications.

Use what Mazda recommends on page 484 of the owners manual(US, Canada) https://www.mazdausa.com/siteassets/pdf/owners-optimized/2013/mazda3-5door/2013-mazda3-owners-manual.pdf
