Do you think a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe is a good choice for a used vehicle or is a 2012 Honda Pilot more reliable?

Hyundais of that vintage tend to have severe engine problems due to manufacturing defects. These problems include things like bearing failure, internal metal debris, piston ring defects, seizing, knocking, excessive oil consumption, and engine fires. Probably best to avoid unless you like living dangerously.
