Hi mister Kilmer !  I'm watching your videos on Youtube with great interest !  You rocks !  I was wondering if you know how to remove rev hang that plagues modern manual cars.  I have a 2002 V6 Mustang, and having learned to drive on carburated cars, that rev hang is just ruinning my driving experience !  I know it's possible to reprogram the ECU to remove it, but no one seem's to know how.  It's like no one even know what this is.  When I ask on forums and Facebook pages, Mustang driver almost always say this is caused by the flywheel being to heavy !  What doe's it take to reprogram the ECU ?  Where can I get the right infos to do it ?  Help !

Many tanks !

Well I never mess with that stuff myself but there are plenty of tuners that can do that find a good tuner who knows how to reprogram vehicles and they can reprogram anything. Most of them are race tuners but

Ok so believe it or not the idle hang issue prevalent in Mustangs is actually due to some emissions controls Ford uses. A lot of people complain about it, but it is what it is and it happens by design.

Now, that being said, there are some people who claim that you can fix the problem by modifying the IAC valve. First, I do not advise this as I have repaired countless Mustangs with this so-called modification because it triggers the check engine light and causes the car not to pass emissions testing. Secondly, when you shut off the car you get a loud hissing sound as you would if you had a big exhaust leak. This is because the modification plays with the air pressure that goes to the IAC valve.

A good tuner can help you get it where you want it, but you need a good one....not something to be done in the driveway with an off the shelf SCT or Diablo tuner.
