Its starts right up sometimes but after a while it just dies like i turned the key, the engine gets fuel, it haves compression, i just changed the fuel filter, fuel pump and the crankshaft position sensor, i left it for repairs but they coudnt find anything wrong with it.
The car is from 2000 if that helps
A 1st-gen 9-3 uses the Trionic-5 ignition cassette, the red one. The only ones that are any good are the OEM ones from SEM Sweden. (They have also been sold by 3rd parties such as NGK, but the cassette itself will say "SEM" on it.) The Chinese knockoffs are terrible. Expect to pay about $300 for a brand-new OEM unit. Now, if you have an OEM cassette if it is the original 21-year-old item it is past its use-by date. Additionally, if you have a black ignition cassette it is the WRONG ONE. It will basically run the engine but you can run into problems and the same caveat about the Chinese ones applies.
Crank sensor is also suspect. (I know you said it's new but if it's an inexpensive knockoff it is still suspect. They also tend to be temperature sensitive, a bad one might work when engine is cold but stop working when hot.)
A quick test is if it will not start spray a little starting fluid into the intake. If it tries to start then you have ignition.
The Saab 9000 also uses the Trionic-5 system, so this no-start checklist for that car may be of some help, though of course implementation details may be different:

PLEASE SEE CORRECTION BELOW! DO NOT USE A RED IGNITION CASSETTE IN YOUR CAR! SORRY ABOUT THE ERROR, MY FAULT!!
IMPORTANT CORRECTION!
I had forgotten that Saab updated the 1st-gen 9-3 in 2000 to the Trionic-7 system. The 1994-1999 900 and 9-3 models are Trionic-5 and use the red ignition cassette.
However for 2000-2002, THE BLACK CASSETTE IS CORRECT FOR THAT CAR!
The good news is the OEM black cassette is a bit less expensive:

That also means the Trionic T-5 no-start checklist is not appropriate for your vehicle.
SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION! Memory is the 2nd thing to go. I forget what the first thing is...
so i fixed it, i pulled the fuse to the radio and it started right up, ive been driving it for a couple of weeks with out any problems, dont know what the fuse hade to do with anything but hey it works!
Congratulations! Might be a bad ground somewhere. Those can cause a lot of strange electrical problems.
Well those subs are very complex I have the tools to analyze them because I am a professional mechanic. But there's so many things that go wrong with those so I'm just one big reason I don't make them anymore they were overly complex but if it ever doesn't start do my video test fixing the car that cranks but doesn't start up
Hi,
according to several swedish saab forums this fail is often caused by a broken crank shaft pos sensor or coil pack. Non-OEM coil packs have a bad reputation in those forums, also causing too rich fuel mixture.
If you have a OBD2 scanner you may check the fuel trim values. And check the spark when the engine is hot. And if the spark plugs show any sign of bad fuel mixture.
I wrote coil pack, but the correct name is ignition cassette as Chuck Tobias wrote.
