Must you use an OBD II Emergency Power Supply Cable Memory Saver to ensure your car's computer's memories remain intact, or could you just hook up one of those 12v lithium ion jump starter devices to the car's battery cables while you switch the car's old battery for a new one?
The problem with this jump start is just they give power for very short period of time and often only when you're cranking the engine I would not trust one I would use a regular 12 volt battery
I use an old-school jump starter with a sealed lead-acid gel battery for this. It doesn't shut itself off.
At Auto Zone when you buy a new battery, they connect a battery to the cables before they take the old one out. Since current is flowing uninterrupted, you don't lose your settings.
Thanks, too, for the tips, Chuck Tobias and mittegag. Very much appreciated. {black}:laughingoutloud:
Thanks, Scottie (et al). Now I have a better idea of how to change my car's battery and still keep its computer memories intact.
Love your channel! {black}:laughingoutloud:
