Hello Scotty,

Rob here. The question I have is : Overheated my Big Block now the weather here is -28c and it looks like I am a fog machine as driving down the road. Is this kinda normal? Should I pull the plugs to see if they are wet?

Those massive engines put out a lot of water vapor that condenses when it hits cold air. I would fully expect to see a lot of moisture in the exhaust when it's that cold. How recently did you overheat it? You can check your plugs, if one or more look steam cleaned, you blew a head gasket. Head to the local auto parts store and rent a head gasket test kit, follow Scotty's video on how to use it, and that will give you a very good answer to whether or not you damaged anything.

Never use straight antifreeze. The engine will overheat.

Always 50/50 mix. Check your coolant with a $5 tester to check your freeze protection.

A cylinder compression test would also indicate if you have a failed head gasket.

Ok i will by the tester add water and set for -30

Overheated last week it was -32c and the coolant had froze in the heatercore i think therefore causing a blockage or the radiator froze up. So i limped it home and shut it off then went and got 4 gallons of concentrated coolant. Poured it in straight no water added. Block was of course cold when i got back. Pulled the thermostat tested in a pot of boiling water it opened as it should at 195 degrees.

Found out also there was a blockage in the heater core. Which producing no heat. Took hoses off and switched then around to flush back the blockage.
