Scotty, I just discovered you on YouTube a few months ago and really appreciate your advice. I purchased a 2000 Miata just over a year ago and used Lemon Squad for the inspection. They sent a very detailed report with dialog, spreadsheets, and pictures. The report mentions “I hooked up my Scan Tool to the computer system and found no current or pending codes. All of the live data looked good with no issues reported”. Does this sound like he used a “good” scan tool like You have? If I ask them what their scan tool is, how do I know it is a good one? And finally, do you have a list of recommended mechanics? Thanks, Jim
