Looking to buy one as an daily driver for 2500$. Has 95000 miles on it. Thanks.
Not a smart idea to supercharge daily driver. It will wear out faster.
@nick20
Some of the Riviera's came with a supercharger from the factory, this being one of them.
I always like the rivs....but they are general motors products and they get glitches with miles, usually around 120k. 3.8 was a great motor, but weak transmission. Not a fan of supercharged gms. Especially old ones usually beaten up.
Those put out way too much power for the transmissions. It'll be the first thing to go. 2500 isn't much though, but I'm always skeptical of OBD 1 cars as a daily driver because of the lack of information it gives you in diagnosing things. If you drive conservatively and baby the transmission, it could be okay.
2.5k still seems like too much for that. I'd be going for 1.5k and feeling a lot better, but it depends on personal finances at this point, and time.
As Scotty would say,not much!
