Selecting a Honda Fit

Hi Scotty. I'm in the market for a used manual trans Honda Fit; debating if it's best to get a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd generation unit. A manual parking brake is a must. What do you recommend to check on these vehicles?

Love your channel.

Whatever model you choose, try to get with a naturally aspirated engine.

I would agree with @yaser for his statement. You also don’t want to buy the first year of any generation since Honda may have to iron a few issues over the years of those generations

Go for the second generation.  I wouldn’t call it a dealbreaker but the 3rd Gen switched over to a GDI-only engine whereas the previous generations had port injection-only setup (better for longevity and total cost of ownership).  See below:

Don’t forget to have it thoroughly inspected by a professional mechanic, before you buy it -
