Car won't start - then had a weird noise

Hello, I'm the proud owner of a 2008 manual Honda Fit Sport with about 125,000 miles.  It's been running great, no problems.  A month ago I foolishly left the lights on and drained the battery and I had to get it jumped to start it.  I drove it plenty to recharge.  It seemed like it's been running fine until today, when it wouldn't start and I had to get it jumped again.

This SEEMED like a battery problem but when I got it jumped today it made a very strange noise while I was driving it.  When it was idling on my trip home (like at red lights and stop signs) it would make this sound like

if a car idling sounds like gugugugugugugug (steady hum)

It sounded like gugugu ... pshhhh ... gugugugugug ... pshhhh ... gugugu like the steady hum was dying out and barely reviving, and when this would happen the gas gauge would randomly dip to making it look like the tank was half full.

???  I'm wondering if this could be a sign of any kind of other problem with the car because I'm not sure how a dead battery could cause this.  Should I still get the battery replaced or do something else?

And to anyone who reads or responds, thank you very much

Load test your battery and alternator.

I'm seeing easy ways to load test my battery, no easy ways to load test an accelerator without a tool I don't have. Thanks though

Can't tell from your description what sound your car is making.. Did you use jumper cables to boost the car or a portable jump box? You shouldn't drive a car with a dead battery, it can overwork the alternator.

A portable jump box and I drove it home so it wouldn't be parked on the street. Thanks

Load testing is the proper test for an alternator or a battery. Most local parts stores like Oreilly or Autozone will check either/both for you for free. You can upload a video of the sound to one of the sights listed under "Read this First"  as this might help us identify where the sound comes from.
