Hi Scotty. Avid fan. Look forward to your videos every day and I've learned a lot. I'm a Honda lover and own two - Type R and CRV. I'm looking for a winter car so I don't have to daily my Type R. I found a 1991 Toyota Landcruiser with 230,000 miles. Looks solid from the photos, but I know nothing about these cars other than they're used in remote places on safaris and such. Knowing your a Toyota guy, what concerns would you have with this vehicle? Seller is asking $8K.

it's a ridiculous price, because it's a highly sought after vehicle. You better REALLY really love these vehicles in order to pay that much. And you better know something about servicing them, because after 30 years and 230k miles it's going to need some work.

Along with Joe, it is very slow, I think those had like 150hp. For $8k I would be shooting for a good 3rd or 4th gen 4x4 4runner. There are plenty around, they are very reliable, and parts are super easy to get. For winter, one of the 4th gen 4runners with the awd/4wd package would likely be far superior in snow/ice. Those old land cruisers were made to go through anything the outback could toss at it, but not really designed for ice/snow.

That thing also drinks gas like crazy, hope you don't mind 10MPG.
