Hi Scotty!
I have been looking at this automatic 2002 Saab 43713 Aero Sedan 4D with just under 150k miles. The current owner recently did maintenance on the thermostat, spark plugs, cabin air filter, valve cover gasket, a/c condenser, crank position sensor, and changed the oil. According to him, there are no issues with the vehicle and fixed a leaking issue as well. Under $3k, looking to get rid of it for his wife.
I think it's good, but I'm still a novice when it comes to cars. I'm unsure how long a SAAB like this would typically last, so I figured I should ask the best of the best! Please let me know what you think.
Thank you,
Tom
Mine have been very reliable and I've been driving them for decades and put very high mileage on them. However, some parts for older models in particular are getting harder to find and it's a niche brand, no longer sold, that most mechanics are not experienced with. Not a good choice for most people.
Saab is a dead brand. Parts are expensive and hard to find. They also are not very reliable cars overall.
I would definitely pass and look for something more practical from Honda/Toyota.
